A good sized oval Bas relief, early 19th Century, by French sculptor Madame Leon Bertaux.  
 
This piece features carved decoration of three putti surrounded by flowers and ribbon. The bottom cherub leans on a globe with a compass in one hand and paper in the other. It is signed along the lower right hand side “Mme Leon Bertaux”. The rear medallion is still intact and in place.
